Loss of a Child Mass on June 4th
/The passing away of a child leaves families in pain navigating grief's life-long journey. A myriad of unspeakable emotions assail broken hearts every minute of every day bringing each mother, father, each family individual to its knees. Along the way, we gather courage and strength to continue an arduous journey. Our respite lies in the healing nature Holy Mass brings.
The Archdiocese of Newark is sponsoring a Mass of Hope and Remembrance for bereaved parents and families being held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., here at St. Thomas, 60 Byrd Ave., Bloomfield. St. Thomas is hosting the Mass.
During the Mass, there will be a reading-of-names. For your convenience, families may register the child(ren)'s name with the Parish Center at 973-338-9190. In the spirit of focusing on bereaved families in need of peace through healing, we call upon you to reach out to families who have experienced the horrific loss of a child by sharing this information. As always, the doors of St. Thomas are thrown wide open and welcome ALL. No one should grieve alone. After Mass, there will be light refreshments and fellowship in the Parish Center.
Most importantly, we warmly invite ALL parishioners to come and pray with us and for us.
With gratitude and hope,
