Baptism Ministry
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
Baptism is the beautiful Sacrament of Initiation into our Catholic Faith.
It is a foundational Sacrament that cleanses a person of all sin, including original sin, and marks their birth into a new a new life in Christ as a child of God and member of the Church. It is performed by pouring water over the head while invoking the Trinity, and opens the door to the other Sacraments.
Duties of the Baptism Ministry Members include:
Placing the family name place cards on the pews, and a candle & bib under the family name
Greet families at the door of the Church & guide them to their assigned pew
Place towels near the font & water pourer
Hold the binder for the presider at the font if asked to do so
Place the Baptism Certificates & Offering envelopes so if needed by a family
Make sure the towels & water pourer are collected & brought back to the sacristy
